Spotfire Statistica | All supported versions |
The StatOpts.xml file contains the configuration settings for Statistica. For example, if customer graph points or line colors have been changed, this will be reflected in the StatOpts.xml file. If custom graph colors, points, etc have been changed, deleting the StatOpts.xml files from the system will reset these to the default options.
Warning: If any options have been changed by the user, deleting this file will force Statistica to create another StatOpts.xml file with the default options. It is advised to make a backup of the StatOpts.xml before deleting it. if Statistica produces a crash report when launched, please save the crash report and send it to support by creating a case here.

An alternative way to reset the StatOpts file
Depending on the Statistica configuration, the StatOpts.xml files could be stored in up to 3 places. Please check all of these locations if the goal is to remove them for troubleshooting purposes. Possibly due to file corruption, all the files can be deleted, as a new StatOpts.xml file is generated automatically when Statistica launches if one does not automatically exist. Open the following locations and delete the StatSoft.xml file:
1. Install path for Statistica. This is typically C:\Program Files\Statistica\Statistica <version #> or C:\Program Files\TIBCO\Statistica
2. C:\ProgramData\StatSoft\STATISTICA
3. C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\StatSoft\STATISTICA\13.x.x.x\ or C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\StatSoft\STATISTICA\<Statistica version #>
